Dr Elicia McGregor

I am a Clinical Psychologist who has worked with children, young people and their families for over eight years, and have worked across several NHS and third-sector services with young people who are experiencing a wide range of emotional difficulties and neurodevelopmental conditions, including anxiety, low mood, post-traumatic stress, self-harm, autism and ADHD. In my current ongoing NHS role, I work with young people who have experienced trauma, alongside supporting their families and those who care for them.
I am passionate about working collaboratively and creatively with young people to help them make sense of what they may be experiencing, and I strive to tailor our work together to best suit each young person's strengths, learning styles and needs.
To be able to do this, I hold the following qualifications:
-
Doctorate in Clinical Psychology - University of East London
-
MSc Clinical Neurodevelopmental Sciences- King's College London
-
BSc (Hons) Psychology - University of Bournemouth
I draw upon approaches in my work such as Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT). In addition to my therapeutic work, I have specialist training and expertise in the diagnostic assessment of neurodevelopmental conditions. I am neurodiverse, and have a diagnosis of Tourette Syndrome, and am very passionate about working in ways which are neuroaffirmitive and empowering.
