WHAT WE CAN DO FOR YOU
How we can help families
There are two main parts to our Practice - the Therapeutic service, for children and young people experiencing difficulties with their mental health and/or behaviour; and the Neurodevelopmental Assessment Service, providing specialist assessments of Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC / ASD) and/or AD/HD. We can also provide cognitive assessments.
A different kind of practice…
Here at Forward Thinking we understand that every child and family is individual and unique. We are passionate about finding helpful, evidence-based resolutions to whatever might bring someone through our doors; and helping young people and families to lead lives that are valuable and meaningful to them.
We are Child & Adolescent Clinical Psychologists who are Registered as Practitioner Psychologists with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC). This means that we are all trained and regulated to a high standard in a range of assessments, psychological therapies and other ways of working.
Our training allows us to work with people of all ages and abilities, and we all have extensive experience of assessing and treating a wide range of presenting problems. We work together with families to create an approach that is individualised to your child’s needs and those of your family, whilst remaining grounded in best-practice.
Although we are trained to work across the lifespan, our team has specialised in working with psychological difficulties experienced by children, adolescents and their families.
We usually work with children and young people aged 0 - 18, but we can see young adults if they choose to come and see us. If we are already working with your child, we can see them beyond their 18th birthday if they want to continue with us.
At Forward Thinking, we understand that finding the way forward is different for every child and family. We are passionate about providing a high quality, bespoke service that is valuable to each child and family.
