Dr Katie Birts
I am a Clinical Psychologist who specialises in working with children and families. I qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2009 and have worked in different NHS services for children and young people ever since.
I hold the following qualifications:

Doctorate in Clinical Psychology - University of Plymouth (hosted by the University of Bristol)

BSc (Hons) Psychology - University of Birmingham
I am also an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and an accredited Video Interaction Guidance (VIG) Practitioner with AVIGuk.
During my time working in the NHS, I have worked with children and young people with many different emotional difficulties and neurodevelopmental conditions, including anxiety, low mood, OCD, eating disorders, self harm, autism and ADHD.
In my ongoing NHS role, I specialise in working with children and young people who have experienced trauma and attachment difficulties.
I have completed further training in trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT), Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Video Interaction Guidance (VIG).
